Terrapins largely found in the lakes and rivers across the country are acclaimed as health food.
   Their shells and blood are highly valued as medicinal stuffs.
   Freshwater prawns, smaller than lobster but bigger than shrimps, are found in the lower reaches of the rivers in North Phyongan Province, the Taedong River, down the Ryesong River and around Ryongmae Island.
   They are prepared into salted and other dishes.
