South Phyongan Province

Nochi
Nochi (fermented glutinous rice pancake) is made by kneading flours of glutinous rice, millet or foxtail millet with hot water, fermenting them with malt powder, and frying them in oil.
It tastes sweet and sticky with high nutritional value, and does not spoil for long.
It was prepared as a holiday dish or a snack for children.
The locals in the Phyongan Provincial area had a custom of preparing the dish on Harvest Moon Day, a Korean folk holiday.
