Roasted croaker with spicy sauce

   Roasted yellow croaker with spicy sauce is a special dish of South Phyongan Province.
   Yellow croaker was caught in Jungsan, Sukchon and Cholsan areas.
   The locals made a variety of dishes with yellow croaker, and they liked roasted dried croaker best.
   Yellow croaker had been caught from ancient times, and it has been a must for ceremonial tables. Porridge cooked with its flesh is a nutritional dish.
   Known to be highly nutritional, delicious and good for invigorating health, the fish has been one of the best side dishes of the Korean people. A Korean saying goes, “The smell of roasted yellow croaker makes the daughter-in-law who has left the house return.” The fish was nicknamed an “excessive appetizer.”
