Coriander is planted in spring and harvested until autumn, to be used in seasoning various varieties of kimchi.
The locals preferred to prepare kimchi with coriander leaves alone for their unique flavour and taste.
Kimchi varieties in Hwanghae Province have distinctive tastes of such ingredients as coriander and fruits of Korean pepper bush.
Pickled shrimps, croakers and squids were used in preparing kimchi.
