Ninth Day of the Ninth Lunar Month & Chrysanthemum Pancake
Koreans celebrated the ninth day of the ninth lunar calendar, when chrymsanthemums are in full bloom, as a folk holiday since the period of Three Kingdoms.
They prepared pancake, punch and liquor with chrysanthemum flowers and enjoyed the autumn-tinted scenery.

Chrysanthemum Liquor
It is made by washing floral leaves and stems of chrysanthemum and mixing them with millet. It is stored for one year and taken on September 9 the following year.
The liquor is good for longevity.
It is said that the liquor was drunk with a chrysanthemum-shaped cup.
